Ok so my HQ coupe has had a Dash swap some where along the line, im not 100% if its a HX LE or a SL/E Stateman Dash but it is Woodgrain, any ways, i want to return to original HQ Dash, what exactly do i need to swap back?

Also some one told me that to fit a HJ/HX/HZ Dash in a HQ you had to cut some metal out???? why is this so? and how can i tell if some was cut on mine?

If this is cut can i still put the HQ dash back in??

The car is really a HQ all the build plates say so and match the chassis number, the dash was smash in half during an accident in the early 90s, and was replaced with current dash.

So what exactly would have been changed to fit this dash
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

It's a HX Premier woodgrain GTS dash. You will need to find a donor HQ that you can cut the whole dash out of .... glovebox to gauge panel. Easiest way is to remove the windscreen and cut along the screen line to remove the entire dash, the welds will be

One quick check, where is the spare wheel tie down point in the boot?

Ive changed the dash in my coupe from HQ to HZ and if you lie on your back and stick your head up under the dash you can see the welds in the corners may have to remove plenum ducts (round plastic things vent thingys)to see it properly. Why you would want

just cut it through the pillars, and through the floor, get a $500 HQ, cut it in the sam place, weld it all together again, cut the wires and join them up and you have you dash back..easy

On the HQ the spare tie down bolt is up on the tunnel over the diff on the left hand side, the HJ has it on the floor to the left.
