Thinking of putting your Club Rego car on LPG ?

Here's a tip for those thinking of putting their Club Registered vehicle on LPG - get it onto FULL REGO FIRST. I have been warned that the government will NOT pay the $2000 subsidy for LPG conversion on Club Registered vehicles because they are not used daily. So check with the appropriate authority before you shell out your $$. Or if your Club Rego is due put it back on Full Rego for a year then get your LPG conversion done. In SA current Historic reg(club reg) does not allow LPG on Historic cars.Doh!

Hi Guys.
Same in NSW.
If it was fitted when the car was new, then OK, but not a new unit fitted to an old car. But then NSW laws are completely different to Vic.
Has anyone done the maths. At say $1.45/litre for petrol & 70c for LPG how many kms |

Interesting. Dr. Terry has the best theory, I wouldn't bother with my hobby car, as a matter of a fact I was quoted $3800 on my 06 Rodaygo and I didn't bother with that either and that ute does around 800k's a week and isn't that bad on fuel anyway.

With the tax increase's to come(each year i think) until 2012,(someone has to pay back the government subsidies) for the 2grand rebate!. If we can sell it off-shore for a few cents/litre why should it be so expensive. Oh well there talking bout putting sm

LPG or natural gas...who cares...its just a matter of adjusting carburation to suit....they run it (natural gas)in other countries.
In NZ it is compressed natural gas (CNG).
Australia is wasting some of its resources...half the nation could be on natura

Well Years ago when I first converted my car to LPG (1998) it cost as little as 18cpl in Melbourne. I naively thought that the result of more cars running LPG would be more LPG pumps at the fuel stations thus less queues to fill up. NOT a tripling of the |

I would sugest every one do there research before going over to LPG if they are after Johnys 2k money back as I think you will find the Rud mister is pulling the pin on it.
