hi, just bought a second hand GM electronic distributor for my 308, and wandered how to test if it's ok. it spins freely without excess end float or sideplay
also like to know what coil and leads to use, and the supply voltage and how to wire it up
it is part no.11120651A 12, black box underneath is p/n 990 6E04
many thanx once again, johnny

Hi tenticles
black box underneath ??? Do you mean under the pressed-metal lid on the side of the distributor case.
When you say GM electronic distributor, do you mean the Bosch HEI unit from a Blue motor.
If it is, use the Holden factory coil & |

HI tenticles.
The distributor you have is sounds like an aftermarket unit which combines a GM (U.S.) Delco Remy top section with a Holden V8 bottom section. It should have a coil-in-cap set-up.
Can you post a picture.
