hey yall,
I am looking for the lightest scissor jack with the most travell..?
i have looked at a couple, i have one that is off a toyota, but it only travells about 300mm
I am looking for at least 400 mm travell?
i also have a mercedes one, that travells far enough, but it is too hard to fit a windscreen wiper motor to it.
i wonder whether a gemini one travells furtherer?
there are no wreckers around here,
so i am hoping some one in here will save me alot of driving around?
thanks youall

yes thats true 807k i put my cordless onto this toyota jack, and it lifted the roof easy, so brainwave here figured, that if i can get two jacks, one either side, then two windscreen wiper motors should be strong enough, to lift roof??
hopefully they

I like the sound of ya wiper motor idea but you'd have to try them to see if strong enough. If you use identical wipers wired into the one switch, i dunno why they wouldn't lift at the same rate. If they did, some electrical genius could prolly sort it us

well 807k
the 12v cordless was strong enough,, so the wiper motors are geared even lower, and have bigger motors in them!
so will a bit of luck, they will do the job

there full extenion can be about 800mm but they will only open to the height of your canvas /vynil area what ever that height is, they will hold about 40kg each, a pair of handles mounted under your roof on the interior will pull them down, spring loaded

BCB - the other way could be to mount one jack on top of the other for a double scissor arrangement - so although the colsed height may end up being 100mm instead of 50mm, youll end up with 600mm lift.

Cheers,

Mick
