i need to put a new waterpump in my vl. im going to put a new timing belt in as well. ive been told that there is a timing belt kit for around $70. they said it doesnt have to go in with a new belt but a lot of people do. does any one no if i should get this kit or not worry about it?

hey cage000 i was told the same thing when i was doin one in my old vl i didn't change the belt and it was fine but if your planning to keep your car then i would probaly do the belt at the same time that way you know its done

It depends on the condition of yours.

How many kms has it done, Does it feel smooth when run rotate it.

I would be inclined replace it, most VLs now have done at least 200,000 km, so it's probably due anyway.
