Hi there, where is the engine number on a red 6

Engine number is stamped into a pad located on the side of the block near the oil pump/engine mounting boss. It is really obvious if the engine is degreased but if you cant find it then most likley it has been removed.

Also note it is hard to see on a black (VK) engine as the pad is rought cast and not machined like everything before it.

Normally I ignore anonymous posters but "Anthony" is correct and Im happy to wear the critisism for my error. I was thinking with blinkers on and missed the "red 6" which was blatantly in front of me. I was simply thinking "holden 6" ie red, blue, black.

Byron, I sincerely apologise for the remark regarding the star/s. There are a number of us here on a friend's computer and some idiot in the background was looking at the author column and said something out loud about all the stars.
