TH400 or TH350 or TH700R4. It will bolt straight up to the 3 speed if that is what is in the Bedford with a bellhousing to suit 308 turbo to aussie 4 speed. You'd just have to put a V8 input shaft into the 3 speed. I'd use a Chev 11" flywheel as well.

HK1837 said they use SBC engine mounts, so just like fitting a SBC to an LH or LX.

What I meant was they bolt in wherever a SBC bolts in, just like a Holden 6 shares the same chassis mounts as a 253/308. Not sure if they can use SBC into HQ adapters and mounts on the engine. It shouldn't be hard to make it fit though.

Hi Guys.

What HK1837 is trying to say is that the 292 6-cyl Chev will fit in the same spot as an SBC.

Yes, the mounts themselves are different, but where they mount is in the same position using the same bolt.

In any Holden you can simply use the

I rang Hadfield some time ago about this, he does not make the mounts, and yes they are different. They might well fit onto the same mounts as any chev, which is usually the old way Yanks did it, but according to Hadfield its very different for HQ-WBs

I looked at this a while ago, but using the C20/K20 style mounts it isn't quite as easy as using HK-HG mounts adapters. I haven't actually tried it, but just measured (for my HZ Overlander). The 292 block has a similar setup on the side as a Holden 6 with

How does the 292 compare length, width and most importantly weight with a holden inline 6.

I thought I read somewhere its weight is similar or indeed heavier than a small block?

Can someone run a tape over one (if its handy)

Thanks

Definitely bigger and heavier. Perfect for 4WD conversions. Will eat a 308 for breakfast torque wise and can run an 11" flywheel which is very important in torque production. They can also be made to go very hard with an increase in compression, good cam,
