Hi All

I have recently bought a HJ GTS 4 door and have been reading some of the posts here.

I noticed that it has been said that the HJ/HX GTS only came out with a silver facia but I used to have a HX GTS 4 door (i was the second owner) and the fascia was black, my current HJ has a black fascia, another HX I looked at personally (said to be fully original) had a black fascia as well and most (but a couple) had a black fascia when i was looking to buy.

Is there any chance that they came out with the black fascia or have i been duped.

Also, some help please - The details of the car are as follows:

VIN 8Q69REL314406J

06/75 BHJ 27405A

MODEL HJ8W069
BODY I56462-A
TRIM 1886-18X
PAINT 506-5949
ENG L32
TRANS M40
AXLE GU7

I know the J on the end of the VIN means monaro. I also guess that it also started life as a 253 with an auto trans and was absinth yellow?

I spose my questions are:

Can anyone confirm it is a GTS?
What colour was the trim originally?
What does GU7 mean for the axle?

All your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Almost correct. L314406 is the plant sequence number (or PSN). The rest is spot on.

Not too sure about the HX, but the HJ GTS facia is definitely silver.

Hey RDS

They are pretty similar - see picture below.

I have looked at your rebuid thread with interest.

It looks like they are pretty much the same. Mine looks OK - good enough to drive around in but certainly not as well prepared as yours is.
