lads,
a few months ago i bought a ej sedan of an elderly chap. it is an original. He was the second owner, he has owned it for 30+ years. in the time he had it, it has been parked in his shed and stayed there. He told me that he hadnt started it for 25 years, it has 41000 miles on it and it was running perfectly when he put it in the shed. I got it home, put new fuel oil plugs points etc. got it started. Here is where im stuck. To get it running, I have to spray some aerostart down the carby. I can only run it for a few minutes as it cooks quickly. Compression is strong.
what do you guys think the prob. is with the motor cookin.
cheers

Old motor might still be working hard to run, would get hot quickly. Maybe there's corrosion in the water galleries, blocked radiator, dud thermostat...and she's not flowing properly, or at all?

probably the radiator has dried out and the dirt in the tubes has gone hard and wont allow water to flow through. when storing radiators even for a few days do not let them dry out, plug the holes and fill with water, or at least lay them down flat and pu
