Time to rebuild the 308.Can anyone recommend a good engine rebuilder in NSW. Just want to L34 the heads ,small cam, balance the bottom end. Red 308, building the car like I had in the early 80s.Factory style paint and stripes David Jones interior, lowered, cam, heads, holly and the biggest hotwires that scraped all four corners.I won,t put side pipes on this time. Ah memories and defect stickers.

West End Performance down Campbelltown way have done some good jobs for a number of people I know. We also got them to do the machine work on the last motor I built, and it was spot-on.

Cheers,

Mick

Best thing for a 308 is stroke it. Costs bugger all more in a rebuild and makes heaps more hp/torque than any other mods. Only problems then are gearbox and diff!

Good if tuned right with the right cam (to suit usage and diff) and correct torque converter for the application.

The cam is mild to suit the standard torque converter on turbo 700. The engine has been to built to make 400. Would that suit the diff?

Sounds OK to me. With the Overdrive you might even want to investigate 3.55 gearing.
