Having just completely refurbished two Girlock alloy brake calipers with pads, seals and paint, I find that they dont seem to fit onto the HJ stub axles I intended to mount them to. I suppose I should have checked first, but I thought they't all be the same throughout the 'H' series. Can I machine the caliper? It would appear that the edge of the caliper is fouling the upright on the stub axle slightly. Help.

To clarify, the calipers are steel/alloy, stamped 1976...

I thought the same!.. Do the stubs from the V8 model differ from the 6 models?
A mate of mine owned a stock LH once, also fitted with Girlocks (alloy), Could there be a mix up?
