Hi everyone, <p> Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi, my name is Leith and I am now looking after the day to day running of FastLane, I can be contacted on Gary's old email (thewheel at fastlane.com.au) for questions, comments etc. Gary is still keeping a watchful eye on the website and I'm sure you will continue to see posts from him. <p> I'm currently working on a deal with Rare Spares for discounts on our online Shop, and the occasional free item to give away to regulars. I'm also talking with some automotive magazines and journalists for regular interesting articles and press releases. <p> As we all know this is a great website and none of us want that to change, but to achieve some of the benefits for the regulars I will need to change the site a little, no drastic changes (other than graphical layout). The site will fundamentally work the same, you will be able to continue to post with out signing up, posts currently up will be kept, it will still be just as easy to use and the same great people will be on here. <p> Before I do anything I want to get everyones opinions, so post me back on this thread, after all this is everyones forum. <p> Are we all happy to make some changes in order to get some benefits? <p> Kind Regards, Leith Robertson FastLane Administrator thewheel at fastlane.com.au www.fastlane.com.au

I say go for it, why not change it if we can get something good from it, and it can always go back to how it is

Some have expressed the wish to be able to post photos, which is good. The last time Gary made a change(to a sign in process) the site nearly died. I doubt he would want to repeat that experience, I suspect the site has never really recovered. I notice th

It would be nice if when a topic is answered it would go to the top of the list, like there are some postings to december postings down below, i suggest they won't be read because they are too far down.

Thanks for the welcoming John, I think that when a post is answered putting it back up the top is a great idea, and is definately something we can incoporate...Thanks for the feedback

I like Fastlane because it is simple and it has all models. It is good that there are no seperate forum sections.
My only gripe is that for something that seems so simple it takes ages to post.

Hi Peter and thanks for the feedback.
I think the reason it takes so long to post has to do with how old the coding in the forum is. If we refresh the site that shouldnt happen anymore.

Hi Leith,
I don't like change, as simplicity is the nature of the beast. However, I have to admit that the changes I have seen so far, appear to be more user friendly.
Is it possible in the near future to incorporate a "SPELL" check to assist everyo

Like the changes Leith.
It's the same as few other non-car sites and they seem to work quite well.
Hope the volume of posters doesn't drop off.

I'm a new member to this sight, and I think it works 97%Octane perfect.
Your General discussion is perfect,with Q's and A's from knowlegable Fastlaners.

Fair Enough comments, I'm not sure how easy it will be to accomodate that though I will look into it, what are other peoples thoughts on 666's comments?

hi Leith, I haven't been to fastlane for ages, but to my surprise it has this new format, i like it a lot better than the old text threaded site, IMHO it's now much more user friendly, and is easier to refer to older threads/info. I agree with 666 to spli
