flat top pistons in a 304 with standard gaskets gets acording to acl 9.3:1 compression 78cc. mine will be flat tops with 86cc whats the compression ration with a standard gasket and what sized gasket would i need for 9:1 comp.
Havent you learnt anything from that guy that gives sermons at church?...Captain whats his name.

No it doesnt. It is 9:1 with zero deck. Holden engines run on average approx .030" below the deck, reducing the comp ratio even greater.

I spoke to a mathematician friend of mine and this was his answer:
" Assuming zero deck height, I calculate the swept volume of the piston to be 647.4 cc. Assuming this
is correct, with 86cc chambers, the CR should be close to 8.5:1

thanks for the help, im not running zero deck height just the usualy skim of both heads and block. so i guess im around the 8:1 to 8.5:1 so my engine should be good for a turbo...
