Hello , i have just finished building my 1979 xd falcon, 351, c10 with 3500 stall , 9 inch all the goodies.
I went for my first test run and 1st to 2nd changes were fine but on the 2nd to third change it locked up the diff and put c10 back into 1st gear. What the???
I have changed the govenor after removing the extension housing and that has not worked, new oil, all gears select when in car , you can drive in any gear but will not go into third, please help
i dont know where to start from here.

Thanks: 1 times
Does the C10 use a vacume hose to the engine manifold? I know the FMX does and without the hose the FMX will not change into third gear.

Yes it has a hose to base plate on carb, its a compressional lockup just as second is about to change into third, if you drive down the road in car either manually selecting gears or automatically , its just on the second to third shift or change , bang p

Did you re-build or get the trans re-built? Sounds like something in the valve body playing up? Does your oil still look clean and not smell burnt?
