I've heard the term before in reguards to engine blocks but have no Ideal what they fill with resin and it's annoying me so any info will help my blood pressure hehe thanks

When you hear the term "resin " or "grout" filled ,the term is indicating that the block has been filled with either of the two substances in the water jacket in order to give the bores a more rigid footing.

It is primarily done on cleveland blocks bec

with very high compression the bore walls flex and you lose performance. the resin is pumped into the water jacket and reinforces it. seeing as there is no water in there the motor can only be run for short periods, as in drag cars.

thanks guy's thats good I never thought they would fill the water jackets so def not good for street applications. thanks again.

If you keep the fill to the level that i explained then running on the street is not an issue. You still have some 3 inches of uncovered bore left.
If it is a concern then you can use less fill. It is a very common practice on cleveland blocks whether t

Sorry,I should have added that i filled mine so that the if you fill it whilst the engine is being built on a stand have the deck in a horizontal position and pour the fill in till it reaches the bottom of the water pump outlets in the front of the block.

very interesting thanks for that is there a special kind of grout of filler you use, I've got my motor out I might look into doing it myself.
