Gday all, The odometer on my VR ute has stopped working, the speedo still works fine. As far as I can tell from the manual, which really doesnt even touch on the odometer, everything is electronic and there is no cable like in the old days. Is this able to be fixed or do I have to replace the speedo altogether? There is a fuse, but, I suspect if that was the problem the speedo would not work at all. Is it all controlled by the main computer and could that be the problem? Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Its a rubber gear that strips in your speedo. A new one should cost about $11. VN-VS Commodores and EA EB ED Falcons all use this same gear and all have a habit of stripping them.
They are less prone to stripping if you only reset the trip meter w |

Quite easy.Pull off the light switch and then get some long nose pliers and rotate out. You have two screws on the the top of the cluster as you look at the display. Short stubby screw driver, real easy. Get a fine screw flat tip and place around the surr
