Hey people, Has anyone tried to put the Bosch BXH1250A alternator into an older engine? Im trying to find a higher current alternator for the HZ and thought that this might do the trick if I could make a bracket up. I think these ones were in the VS Commodores. I've installed so much crap in my car that the 85A job is in danger of being maxed out.
Is this do-able or am I missing something glaringly obvious here?

So I guess youre already using a VN-VS 85A Bosch alternator?
The 85A ones are more than up to the task of powering a VS caprice with all the power doo-dads, EFI, electric thermo fan(s), climate control, 340W of headlights & foglights (on high beam with |

You will need a 120amp battery to hold the extra juice or 2 x 65amp batterys coupled together Cheers, Colby

It is an 85A alternator according to the stamp, the exact model I cant tell. I assumed it was the Bosch replacement for the original unit, like a BXU1285A or something, which was not what went in to the VN - VS?
Its not really for my stereo, as that do
