What is the earliest date you have seen a Holden panelvan with a full length headlining?
A small clue the HQ and the HJ Oct 74 parts books do not list a full length headlining.

Not sure. HJ from release are supposed to have it, and if you look in the 10/74 HJ Sandman brochure the van looks to have one (anyone got a scan of it that the can blow up and see better?).

I only have a 1/76 brochure and it has a red van with full headlining but we all know they were in well before this. The brochures sometimes lie though, the worst case of this was a HT brochure with a Chevrolet engine with a 253 decal on the air cleaner. I guess Holdens had not completed a 253 in time for the photo shoot.
Anyhow all HJs probably had a full length H/L but if anyone has an unmolestered, non re-bodied, original early HJ van it would be interesting to know for sure. Or did a couple sneak out the door?

Holdens always had a neutral headlining option that in HJ would give you a Chamois headlining.

I wasnt aware that GM-H made an HJ Kingswood P/van. I thought the first Kingswood van was an HX (7/76 onwards).

Do you have photo a of the body or VIN plates.

Dr Terry.

I have a HQ Sandman build sheet copy that shows neutral headlining. Oddly enough (and from memory) I think the option code for neutral headlining was XU3!

That is correct Byron, HQ series is XU3 for neutral H/L,
this changed on HJ-X-Z to XY9 for neutral H/L.
I guess the code is relevant to the colour as well, XY9 being Chamois and the XU3 would be Doeskin and/or Flax.

Getting a little off track here , but trying make a little sense of it all , HK HT HG Panel Vans (although the short type )apparently all used Neutral Headlinings from new as mine has also . Although a few people claim they have seen coloured ones in HG ? And also the parts book does back this up , even though the parts book is not always 100% correct . But the HKTG utes all got colour coded ones as standard unless optioned with the neutral headlining ? Also many HT Prems particulary (other than antique gold) that i have owned all nearly were neutral headlining . I believe it was optional and many people ticked the box due to the heat factor rather than a black or the like coloured headlining. Just my thoughts .
