Al, im fairly certain those engine laws have only just been written. If they are old then there is a state that has been using those engine laws for years, anyway they are the laws that are being pushed to become national and as i said, who knows if, when, or who they will effect.
When the laws change they replace pages with new ones, they dont rewrite the whole book, hence the feb 06 on the first page. The new pages will be dated accordingly.
The old or current laws in QLD (if theyre still current) are:
4 cyl and rotary as biggest factory engine weighing under 1100kg... Naturally aspirated: Original weight in kgs x .183 = largest cubic inches. Blown or turbo: Original weight in kg x .153 = largest cubic inches.
All other MONO constructed 4s and rotaries over 1100kg aswell as all 6 cyl and 8 cyl: Naturally aspirated.. Original weight in kg x .294 = largest cubic inches. Blown or turbo: Original weight in kg x .244 = largest cubic inches.
4s and rotaries over 1100kg aswell as all 6 cyl and 8 cyl with SEPARATE chassis: Original weight in kg x .333 = largest cubic inches. Blown or turbo: Original weight in kg x .286 = largest cubic inches.
Hope that helps. If you find out whats happening with the new laws let us know. Cheers.
