yes i will need to replace them

chassis is about to get sandblasted and either re-painted or powder coated , not sure which way to go yet? depends on the cost really

how do these clips hold on, is it some sort of one way clip? i cant work out how to get them off without destroying them, and id rather not destroy them cause id have to buy new ones, and im a real tight arse

Theres a pin that knocks into the clip and expands it inside the chassis....if you know what I mean. I dont know how to save the pin but to remove the clip just get a small punch and knock the pin thru from the top (it ends up inside the chassis)....if that makes sense. Rares sell new ones and theyre not that expensive.....or you can get them at Autopro/Repco etc.

oh, and i was told today that the number is most likely a date code from when the chassis was built, number is 22B2 which would mean 22nd of feb 1972 which fits in with the build date of the car

so all mysterys solved
