Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of a sound deadening product other than Dynamat??

A $1000 for enough to do my car is ridiculous!

Surely their is a cheaper alternative?

Cheers,
Allan

I use carpet underlay and glue it up on the inside of the firewall, and also behind the back seat up the bulkhead. Cut out a lot of road noise pity about the crap seal on the windows. Mine also has that bitumen stuff underneath the car.

Try ebay, I got an unopened bulk pack of Dynamat extreme for $200 which was enough to do a HK sedan.

Or Google auto sound deadener, Fatmat is another one, there are plenty of brands out there.

I went for the aluminium backed bitumineous insulation because when its applied correctly it is pretty well waterproof. Underfelt on its own traps water between the floor and the carpet. I used Dynamat and a high quality underfelt and the result is terrific, really good sound & heat insulation.

just bought 240 FT eDead 45 Sound Deadener
not sure how good it is but its cheep enough...checked a few forums and the response was positive.
from what i can figure there are three main types of sound deadener matting fiberglass, tar, and Butyl Rubber..
they seem to be rated in this order with the Butyl Rubber rated highest..
I have seen this on eBay au for $130 for 30ft

this is what i have coming in in the next container...

Hi Guys,

No. I am in Rockhampton!

Have tracked down a product called Resomat from Tru-fit carpets which seems reasonable!

3.4 square metres of 2.7 mm Resomat with heat shield for $175.

Sounds good too me!

Ill let you know how it turns out.

Cheers,
Allan
