The Hood cable has snapped and would love to know if theres an easy way to release the bonnet,can reach the leaver but thats no good until catch is released, I have taken off bumber bar and stone gaurd to allow access but can not get to cable, it has snapped near catch
any suggestions _ desperate

you have to pull the catch first so the bonnet pops up,then the lever.2 people would be better,use big plyers or a screw driver,should work..jim

its a easy fix if you know what to look for, basicly all you need to do is get a flat thin peice of steel and put it through the gap between the grill and the bonnet and push the latch accross, the perfect tool is a door handle removing tool, but any thin flat peice of steel would do

A 12" steel rule is good too, round end in the palm of your hand. Put a bit of downwards pressure on the bonnet when you slide the latch open with the rule.

ahh yes, a bit of downward pressure would make it eaiser too
