Gidday, I have an old 308 in a ski boat that is getting water in the oil,any suggestions to the cause, valley cover/head gasket? Also how do you tell the difference between turbo pattern block or trimatic

the most noticable change in bolt patterns is that the two top bolt holes sit higher to the top of the block on a trimatic pattern rather than a turbo. as for the water check your head gaskets, valley cover & timing cover. ive seen the timing chain slacke
