every car has some current passing through the cooling sysytem.
noramly under .3 of a volt you wont have a problem.
the coolant picks up traces of iron and other metals this gives a new earth,so it is important to change your coolant and keep it at the right concentration.
hope this eaxplains it a bit better. pete.

get a multimeter on 20 volts setting or similar, one lead on the negative battery terminal and the other in the coolant carefully not to touch the core, this will give you a reading, try it on few different cars and you will see differnt readings.

One problem is that the entire cooling system can carry current from any number of points in the vehicle. You also have a range of different metals throughout that conflict with each other. All of these contribute to the radiator being eaten away. In some models it is greater than others.Someone like ADRAD could advise you how to resolve it or at least how to reduce the corrosion. Its not only the coolant that comes into play but it certainly helps having it right.
