HG and HT are the black ones, made in Australia by Bridgstone for GMH. The repros I remember seeing were no good. HK Walnut were made in the USA and the US made repros are excellent.

the rares repro HT & HG wheels are from the states made in taiwan and they are the wrong offset 2inch instead of 4. i bought one direct from the states(classic industries) they call them the comfort grip to suit chevelles and the like.also heard reports the the repro ones tended to bend easily.

Was the one you bought made by Grant??

They seem thicker than the GMH ones going by the photo...

Also, does it have the stainless steel bit around the outside of the rim?

Cheers

The Repro wheels are the wrong offset , as they were made to suit cars with Tele/Tilt Steering colums in America .
At this point no one makes a correct Repro HT HG LC Black wheel that i am aware of .

Theres one advertised on Ebay that says it has the correct 4 inch offset and 15 inch diameter, but its clearly too thick and does not have the stainless around the rim.

Its obviously not a reproduction, but seems to be reasonably good value for a good aftermarket wheel - got to be better than the thin Premier tiller :)

Has anyone bought one?

Just buy a HK replica from the US. Right size, offset and spokes and fits the centre. Just isnt black with the ring.

i found out the hard way today ,the ring on the outside does not appear to be stainless steel but more of a mild steel/alloy as we cut it and tryed to make it slightly smaller with a TIG welder turned down to 3-4amps to make it fit tighter.but it all turned to s#*t. the ring material was softer than the mild steel filler wire.any ideas on what it made of ?

Jeremy, the "thin" Premier wheel is similiar in thickness to the GTS wheel, that was the fashion in those days. I got mine done in 2 pack to match the rest of the dash, mind you I did scour the earth to find a good steering wheel and because my HK is an early one the steering wheel had to be round not ovoid.

Many years ago I was given a LC GTR wheel with boss but without horn cap & cap base & missing stainless ring around the outside,I re-discovered It in a box of dirty old car bits,It took me ages but eventually I got cap & base & repainted them cost me about $220 I discovered a seller called "The Rimshot buddy" in the states & he sold mylar tape the correct size to fit in the space of S/Steel ring,It looks pretty good,But I doubt it would satisfy hard-core purists. On the GMH Torana website I read in a forum there that there was a bloke who said he coud replace the missing stainless ring with an aluminium one the same dimensions etc. for aboutt $230.

Hi all ,first time on here
To fit(repro GTS steer wheel)2 problems i found were
blinker cancelling pins poor fit in boss ,use some loctite.
Horn button really loose fit to backing plate ,drill n tap 3 small holes in cap edge where the divits are m2 thread worked and use screws to hold cap on . ebay item , not real happy with it .modified it to make it work .
