If youre not abusing it, a TH700R4 will handle it, and if you get one out of a VN or VP V8 Commodore, its already SBC pattern. It runs off a TV cable (like a kickdown cable), so it doesnt need a computer.

You will need a small, readily available aftermarket electronic box to lock up the torque convertor for the full economy benefit, but its a cheap & easy way to get a 4 speed overdrive auto that bolts up, and uses TH350 bits such as tailshaft & speedo drive.

Cheers,

Mick

TH700R4 should be longer in housing than aussie TH350, hence shorter tailshaft. I wouldnt trust one in a tow car though, but are fine for everyday use. Not sure Id want a standard one behind a 350hp 350 SBC though!
