Morning Team

Ive picked up some gear off ebay for the G and I need to degrease it.

Can you please give some advice - the thing I worry the most about is the A/C compressor.

What's the best way to do this and not kill it?

Also a clutch fan hub which doesn't worry me as much.

Cheers

Jeremy

Petrol or degreaser ,but in small doses, maybe spray it on a rag and wipe it clean...just what I think.

for the compressor, just go to bunnings or a clark rubber & get a couple of terminal plugs (look like rubber chair feet, but get the soft rubber ones) & utilux clamps, to clamp the rubbers over the pipe ends, then simply degrease as normal, as for the cluch fan it needs no special care, just a general degrease & hose off, but not high pressure..

also if the compressor has been left with the hoses cut/removed & the pipes unsealed, you may find it may need to be rebuilt, as even a small amount of dirt or dust can cause the seals to fail, once under pressure, I dont know if you can flush it out, youll have to chat with a knowlageable installer or A/C mechanic/fitter..

Nice one

Thanks guys.

The lines all have masking tape over them, so I dont think therell be dirt in them, but Ill use your suggestion as I reckon thats a much better protection.

I doubt the masking tapes air tight, but it should have kept dust etc out.

Cheers

Jeremy
