Evening all

Just doing some research into wiring of the VN cruise control into the HG.

I could get individual buttons etc. from Jaycar, but I would prefer to pick up a 3 push button switch set (Off/On, Resume/Accelerate, and Set/Coast) from an existing car (not necessarily a Holden).

Can anyone think of a car thats cruise works this way??

Cheers

Jeremy

VN are a latching on/off switch (ie push on, push off).
You could do it with 1 switch, 2 momentary pushbuttons (Set / Resume), and 2 LEDs.

Mick

Didnt VL have a single switch mounted on the dash somewhere that did all those things??

I remember driving home one day in my brothers VL playing with the thing. It kinda looked like a added on later item, but it was a Calais, so I thought it would have been factory.

From memory the switch was just above my left knee next to the steering column.

Not sure if the on/off switch is actually a latching one or not - if it is, then it will work, if not, youll need some sort of latching relay setup.

See either side of where "Cruise Control" is written on the switch bank? I think theres an LED in either side from memory, but Id have to check.

Cheers,

Mick

It also dpemds on how the unit is sired internally, I have used VN switches on an aftermarket unit, but the after market unit used one wire for up and down control with a 1 ohm resistor on the down button.
