Ahh not all HQs had accessory on the ignition, it was standard in the prems & up, almost all kingswoods got it, but not all & on belmonts it was an option, best bet is to remove the dash base plate, undo the two screws holding the fuse panel in & drop the panel down, you will find on the back of the panel extra terminal points of which you have about 3 or 4 that are constant 12V. Make sure you fuse your supply lines....

With all due respect, what a load of bullsh!t. All Holdens since EH have had an accessory position. HQ onwards have issues with the steering lock mechanism worn & sometimes not selecting Acc or Start. Trust me, they had all 5 positions (Acc, Lock, Off, On & Start) when they left the factory. Holden usually wired wipers & heater fan etc thru the accessory switch contacts. The vacant positions in the fuse box are for power windows , air cond & other less common accessories. Well just as Dr Terry said just needed to turn the key back toward me thru the off area.It is tight probaly from lack of use but does allow the wipers, heater and radio to work.Still cant beleive it was so simple. Thanks Dr Terry.

Dr T. I am sorry but I feel no respect with this comment. "what a load of bullsh!t." If you wish to correct me please feel free to do so, I dont know all, i can only go on personal experience (of which I have come across more than 5 HQs without a accessorie position on the switch module, not even a terminal for it), but there is no need to be a smart arse! I future I will not commect on anything with out your express writen approval.. HOLDEN The Great Way to Move |

With any cars that are in doubt use the old fuse and toggle switch method.

Beautifully put. The correct way to stamp out myths is this way. There should be more of it.
