i was driving along the other day at 100 when my speedo started bouncing between 90 - 100. i wasnt slowing down or speeding up or anything, and now it is permanently out, but the amount it is out by seems to get bigger each drive. now when it says 60 i am doing around 100. its definately not safe, particularly for my wallet if i get caught going over. and now my odometer is slow too, i drove 50 kms today and it said i did about 30. any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it?

As having just gone thru speedo dramas myself check simple things first like the plastic drive gear in gearbox if your car has one.It could be stripped and not spinning.-cheers keeo

quick fix is to get a tacho and a mate to drive with you and write down rpm vs actual speed, this wont change.then fix your speedo later and youve still got a tacho....cool?
