To my knowledge all three GTR engines just used standard heads.

The LC GTR 161S had a 7438296 head.
The LC GTR 173S had a 2811929 head.
The LJ GTR 202 had a 2811930 head.

No, as I said they the were standard issue high compression head at the time. The only Holden 6 engine which had its compression lifted for a performance gain was the XU1. There are only 2 different sized combustion chambers across the entire range of Red/Blue/Black 6-cyl engines & all Holden did was fit the small chambered head to the larger engine. This lifted compression to 10:1 (~10.25 for the LJ).

Try & find a 2nd hand Yella Terra head or just go to a head shop & get yours modified to similar specs.

Thanks Dr terry, the reason i ask is im swapping some parts i have for some other parts and in it the guy said were 2 GTR heads. I was looking at turbo charging a 202 but now supercharging with a eaton M90 so i will be adding some larger valves ect just thought id gain some info on them first. i pick the parts up this week so ill check the numbers to see what they come off.

cheers Dan
