Honestly, DONT go the 460. Its a truck engine and it will just tear the coupe apart with the torque. If you want a pretzel instead of a car then go for it. Also you will need engineers certificates and in some States its now illegal to do. Go the 351 or if you want to be a bit different go the 400 cleveland if theyll allow it. 351 will be a lot easier to fit up though and work out cheaper to do with less hassels. With the money saved spend it making the clevo better.

IMO - the 460 coupe is one of the most brutal cars ive experienced. I loved and hated it in equal parts. In the 18 months a close mate owned his, among many others the most bizzare issue it created for itself was a split sill panel (along the seams..). It was coupled to toploader and literally tore itself apart despite significant strut/engine mount bracing and chassis connectors etc.
If you go that route - be concious of how hard this engine is on the body and over engineer every brace imaginable.

Jimmy, is the car going to be road registered? Is it going to be a daily driver? Do you mind killing a coupe shell through body twist? Do you want the car to be able to go around corners or just in a straight line? Before you begin, what sort of coupe is it you have? What was it from factory? The more you mod a coupe ( personalise it ) the more you can de-value it. Planning on keeping the car forever or selling it down the track? Theres more to consider here than just throwing in an engine.

Why dont you just put a stroker kit in the 302,you can probably go all the way to 408cubes and there are no rego issues. You also dont have to worry about the huge weight of a big block over the nose. Over the last few years Ive looked at all the options for powering up my coupe and I keep coming back to a clevo(or windsor)stroker,it just seems to tick all the boxes,ie price, rego issues, easy to live with etc. Pavetech are advertising a 434 clevor with 728hp for under 20grand,to me that seems great value. Youll pull the HP figures easy enough out of a stroker (or for that matter a 351 with supercharger).
Re getting it sideways - 500HP is easiliy 200HP more then you need in an old falcon, so wont be a problem. Diff ratios and tyre size are cheaper the 200HP if "show" power is all you want.
You can always be different - XR6 Turbo motors are very easy to push 500HP.
