ive been doing some work on the ambo chassis this weekend, now i'm upto the fuel tank and tank straps, they are a lovely rust brown colour atm and i'd like to make the all nice a new looking again
so my question is what did they look like new? were they painted or were they zinc plated or cad plated?

They were terne coated. Terne is an alloy coating of lead and tin used to cover steel, in the ratio of 20% tin and 80% lead. If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/ |
