buying a ek holden ute has no seat belts and is unregisted will i have to put seat belts in for rego

No you don't have to.
because it was made before that ADR law came in.
But the cops may pull you up more often if you don't have them on. but they can not bust you for it.

As long as it is not modified in any way, then you dont have to fit seat belts. If they have ever been fitted you cant take them out though.

i think the ADR for seat belts was 7/70?
was it?

-2 x 15 x 8 Dragway centrelines

straight forward, buy a new set of retractables.
you get all the nuts and bolts ets.

In NSW they've made it retrospective.

All cars from Jan 1965 onwards must have at least 2 front seatbelts, even HDs & early HRs, which didn't get them originally.

Without having looked into it, is there an inertia reel setup you can buy which bolts up to the original bolt locations HR HK etc and are you allowed to fit said setup to holes you would have drilled yourself, eg Browno's EK?
