Hi Team Can someone explain the preslite/trico wiper motor thing to me? My car has a preslite wiper motor like the picture below. It seems to have the screws on it to bolt the trico pump and the wiring that goes back to the washer bottle pump looks dodgy. So my question is, did the HG come with the Trico pump from standard and they were replaced with the washer bottle pumps when they failed?? Pic of the pump I'm talking about here. Cheers Jeremy The G will roll again.... |

Yes they all had them as standard and were generally replaced with the washer bottle pumps. This is commonly seen in them.
The wiper motor in your photo has come off a Belmont. The cap in the centre was used on the Belmont (and factory air) models. You'll need to remove it to fit a Trico washer pump. |

Nice one Simon
Need to find a pump that works first - got a couple, but I'm not sure they work - really haven't tested them, but the wires have been cut on them that doesn't soud good. :)
Thanks |

I snuck an electric washer motor under the original cover, but I'm not telling anybody about that. Oops!

Hi Amunro327, What brand/model pump did you use? I tried the same thing using a Haig pmp only to find it did not work as pump needed to be below the washer bottle to work!

Don't know what brand or model it was, it was just something that I had lying 'round in the shed. It took a bit of fiddling to get it in there.
