It would have it's own VIN and comply with whatever ADR's apply to a 2010 body and 1968-71 mechanicals.

I would build one like Cloudy, and apart from the suspension (which I would be looking around for alternatives) and some trim etc mine would be a completely modern car.

Maybe the builders of these new shells need to make one that has a VZ or VE floorpan incorporated into it.

What an absolutely brilliant idea.

I doubt these bodies will ever be a Monaro in the true sense and will never be taken seriously as a "reproduction" Monaro. But, as a kit car based on a readily available floor pan and running gear, that's a whole different story.

the floors are coming with or with out saggy hump, was told to have it redgistered you need a old shell beyound repair this will put on some sort of redgister so it cant be used again and a new vin will be issued for the new shell, even if the shell dont take of they will do well just from the panels i think, have seen the rear beaver, front guards, ht-g gts bonnets all look smik i guess as long as they fit good???

Id like to see these shells made,it may even provide a market for someone to start making the hard to get items like seats etc for monaros. If they were not able to be used as a body spare part and were listed as 2010+ models then shurley we would see most of the origonals come back to factory specs which would be great to see and the newer models go with the owners imagination this would be awsome!
It would certainly make up my mind to keep mine stock.... and if someone produces more repo parts, it will make owning a monaro more (2010 catchphrase) sustainable!

Bring em on!

With the way the yanks are putting later C4, C5 & C6 gear under C1 & C2 corvettes, like this:
http://www.corvettefever...olet_corvette/index.html

And considering the popular trend for late model engines, boxes, suspension & brakes into icons like classic 60s camaros & chevelles, I reckon you've nailed it with the idea of a classic body on a modern platform.

An aussie Monaro built like the 7-8-9 would be awesome:
