HI guys, my brother has just arrived and showed me his VS door that will not open, and I have no idea how to get it open.

All the other doors open with the button on the key but the front passenger door will not. Trying to pull the button up results in it springing straight back down again. Holding the button up and trying to open the door is useless too.

I know how to fix it once the door is open, but I have no idea how to get the damn door open.

Any ideas??

VS had a deadlock feature that quite often played up.Try hitting just below the door handle area with your fist, firmly but not that hard that you will cause a dent, at the same time lift the button. This sometimes free up the nylon deadlock in the lock mechanism. Hope it works

OK got it sorted. With the door closed you can get enough of the door trim off to access the lock mechanism. Then I was able to manipulate the lock to get the door open.

Turns out the actuator has locked up solid and will not allow the mechanism to move. Once this was disconnected the lock was back to a normal manual lock.

Will need to get a new actuator and complete the job at a later date.
