Hi Guys Newbie, will HQ/J or other model roof bows etc, fit a HG panelvan if I put some holes in to locate the bows. I want to fit a full length headlining in my van. Is it achievable to get a full headlining into a HG Panelvan. Thanks

In theory it should fit. You need more than the bows though, you need the side strips and rear attachment strip. All of it should be fabricate-able though. Contact Jason via mysandman.com.au, and he'll be able to help I think.

Hey Panoman... Did you find out what you were looking for in the full length headlining? My HK has one from a HQ in the rear (bows anyway) with pretty red velour!!! Don't know about the cabin, but the roofline profiles are the same, only difference might be the steelwork to make the cabin frame. Cheers Brian

Yes, I bought a kit, which has the bows and all the bits necessary to complete the job (apart from actual headlining). But as usual I am a few steps ahead of my self. The roof lining will be down the track abit yet, as I still have not got through NSW rego, the blue slip issues are up higher on the priority list. I blew my budget on some rust repairs and I am still a bit worried about what I need to get done in order for the VK 304 (carby leaded version) to pass blue slip inspection. But I will take my time and do whats needed.
cheers Mick

Have you got any photos worth posting? As one pano to another would love to see what's going on on another build. I'm putting the running gear from one of my broughams into the HK, 308 powerglide, but with a commodore diff for better wheel choice. Will be dropping a turbo'd 253 in later as the dollars recover in my wallet. Dont have any rust to deal with other than one 10c piece near rear wheel...very lucky indeed. Only issue is that there was a celica box in it at some stage, and I'll have to put the floor crossmember back. Will be putting up a post in the rides section in a few weeks after I Get to the shed to take a few more pickies. Cheers Brian Edited by user Wednesday, 6 April 2011 3:39:59 AM(UTC)
