should be a easy job, engine mounts are probably going to be your main drama (if it's currently has a V6 ), you'll never be able to register it, emission laws will kill that idea

You'd be surprised at what fits what.
I'm going the other way....putting a VR stroker engine and 6 speed box into an HQ.
So far I've found that the HQ 3 speed tailshaft has exactly the same splines & fits the T56 box perfectly.
The VR tail shaft is the same lenght as the 3 speed tail shaft.
Gearbox cross member mounts are exactly the same, and the HQ crossmember is exactly the right height although it will need strengthening as the T56 is a heavy box.
Unfortunately the HQ transmission tunnel is not big enough for the T56, so extensive modifications are underway.
Dipstick tube may need to be modified for your conversion.....it's always the little stuff that causes the problems.

Taz2,for your gearbox the T400 cross member might do the job they had a plate welded to them to take the extra weight of the T400.
