I bought a set on engine bay wiring harness clips. The one on the left is a genuine clip, the one on the right is a Rares replacement. Have I got it wrong or do I need glue to hold the clip to the body and the harness to the clip?

Hi

First of all what model car do you have and which kit did you buy?

if you have a look down the list on the link below there are images of all the different engine bay clip sets to suit the different models, we do remanufacture the clip as seen on the left in your photo so there wont be a need to "glue" anything

It is a HJ Panelvan. I ordered the clip set ( as it turns out I was right the first time CP1057) about 12 months ago.

Heres the order

i have just re checked threw an original parts book and that clip 2818034 is definatatly not listed in the genuine hj catalogue

the clip listed in the genuine catalogue that does the same application of holding the wiring harness and washer hose is listed as sp1779 which is the smaller silver clips that come in this kit

i dont have a hj here to have a look at unfortunatly so i cant comment on any other vehicles directly, maybe somebody else here with a hj can check and see which of the 2 different style clips are correct?

I guess these will be going back with the other stuff as well.
I've lowered my expectations of RS stuff.....and I'm still being diappointed.

Not true....

clip 2818034 qty 4... is listed in the HQ,HX and HZ catalogues as harness to dash panel. (washer hose and harness)

clip SP1779 qty 2... is listed in the HQ,HJ,HX and HZ catalogues as harness to fender skirt. (washer hose and harness)

They are totally different clips. Clip 2818034 is shown in the catalogues the same shape as the left one in gtrpu's picture.
