HI I know the HT and Hg ran the gear shift linkages etc off the crossmember as per the HK for the saginaw.. But when they ran a HT 253 4spd did it use same set up or did it use different? Most aussie 4spd ran a shifter on the box itself??

Thanks Heaps guys

HT and HG 253 4spd is a Saginaw, same basic setup whether 6cyl, 253/308 or 307/327/350. Only really the clutch setup varied, rest of the differences were minor.
You are correct most Aussie 4spd ran the shifter on the box. I think it is only the LH with Opel with aussie M20 and Bedford with aussie M22 that had remote mounted shifters.

There was never an Aussie 4 speed in HK HT HG. Just Opel and Saginaw.

Even 6cyl ran a Saginaw as standard when 4spd selected in HK-HG commercials. There were 2 x versions for some of HK-HG, M21 (normal ratios) and M22 (wider ratio). For a while only the M21 was available. You could option a Saginaw on most HK-HG models except where it was standard fitment (eg V8 GTS) or where it wasn't available (eg Brougham or HT 307 GTS).
