A while ago I broke the base plate of the tensioner on my VR by trying to undo the bolt that holds the tensioner wheel on.
I have just found out that the bolt is left hand thread, so that explains why the plate broke, I thought it was just tight.
So just an information note for people trying to remove the tensioner pulley, it's left hand thread!
