I know this is an old thread, however it is still worth an answer, the choice of oil will probably come down to intended use. Both oils sound good to me, lots of ZDDP, which is always good as long as there is no additive clash. In other words use the oil as the oil engineers intended and not mixed.

This is a complex topic, I am not saying I know it all by any stretch however certain things need to be understood. Like the bearing clearances, this dictates oil flow. Oil flow is very important for cooling and lubrication. The bearing clearance will dictate this.

The thicker oil regardless will generally give better protection, it will have higher drag, that higher friction will not lead to higher wear. Oil temps is another issue to consider, higher temps, obviously leads to thinner oil. Too thin, lots of wear.

Now high performance engines with flat tappets can run very thin oils. However they are not street oils, they are in fact very expensive racing oils that don't need to comply with current emissions legislation . 850+ HP engines can run on 5W20 weight oils, however they are very well built engines with tight clearances, around 0.0015" on the bearings.

You have a good oil brand, hopefully you stuck with it,
