Evening Guru's. The left hand low beam reflector in my WB statesman lights is stuffed, the reflector stuff has peeled off. The good news i a have a set of standard WB ute square headlights, the left hand ones lens was smashed so i was able to easily removed the reflector, however, i'm stuck trying to work out how to get the lens off the statesman one without smashing it.
I've removed all the clips, but the rubber gasket is holding that lens in really firm, i had thought about heating it with a heat gun but that will probably wreck the body. Obviously prising the lens out with a screwdriver is out as it'll break the lens for sure.
Anyone got any clues?
Cheers

i've successfully used a screwdriver to lever the lens out, took my time and was patient, came out no problem. try running a very sharp blade around the circumference first. if the lens is cracked or has a stone star on it don't use this method, but if it is sound you should be right

Thanks for this advice SC, i finally got the chance to pull the headlamp apart on the weekend. I think cutting around the lens made a big difference as i could feel the lens want move easier after i had done that. I couldn't get that lens to "pop" out though until i put on my leather motorbike gloves which gave me the extra grip to get the lens to move. All the while i was working on it i was swearing, i was sure the glass would break but it's pretty tough stuff. I also found a new set of the plastic locating clips that fit to the reflector, the local Autoopro had some as they also fit Falcon headlamps. So now i've rebuilt one headlamp, time for bthe drivers side!
Thanks again
Bill
