gday. i just brought a HZ ute with a warm 202 and Celica 5spd. GTS wheels, guads and steering whell. prem front. recaro seats. all for $500!!!! anyway the problem is the Celica box pops out of 4th gear any idea's as to how this can be fixed??

This is common when the front bearing is gone. 4th gear locks the shafts 1:1.

It will be WAY cheaper to simply buy another box and swap it over. Quite often, a box jumping out of gear is caused by bent selectors inside the box or very worn internals. Either way, save yourself a heap of work and expense and start looking for another

Also just realised that u've probably got an adaptor housing between the engine and box that maybe misaligning the input shaft (ie simulating the front bearing problem)You may have a dodgy one,Goodluck.

it changes gears real nice except downchanging from 4th to 3rd it clunks slighhtly. but if you hold it in forth it goes great

Don't worry about ur selectors being bent.If it's jumping out of - 4th only - its a problenm at the front. U see - When power comes into ur box, the INPUT SHAFT has a gear that IS SUPPORTED by the FRONT BEARING. From here the power goes down into a cluste

invested in a parts car that had a warm 202 and a supra five speed in it. The fella i got it of said that he went through 3 celica boxes in a couple of years before he put the supra box in it. The supra box was still going strong 3 years later. You can ge

I'll sell you a complete Supra 5-speed that is out of a HJ 6cyl if you wish to go that way. It was in a HJ sedan. Complete with free running 202 (not for a few years now) with Holley etc. Everything from fan to tailshaft, including sedan gearbox crossmemb

gday. i just pulled the mototre asnd box out of the ute. motor has been sold so i took the box off. and now with no clutch on it the shifter stays in 4th. so is it possible that it was just a bit misaligned??

Without the engine to apply any decent amount of torque it,s impossible to say. If ur thinking of selling the box as is, someone may get ripped off ?
