Byron did you ever follow through with trying to fit up an Cressida steering box to K-T-G ?

I've noticed a few of them around the pick-A-part yards and they sure have some similarities.

I have fitted one to the EH Limo. It works, but does not just click in like a piece of Lego.
If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/

I did place it against HK rails and it will fit but will need significant work and probably Engineering.

Depends on how good you are with metalwork. Either need Engineering. At least with the Cressida box you'd not get bumpsteer issues. I think I did hear that you needed to get a HK steering arm respline dto fit the Cressida spline. One of the mounting holes appears to line up. The other two need work. The power steer hoses come out of the top of the box so will look a little messy. I have one here in the shed to compare, but you should find one for less than $50 locally. The Cressida this one came out of was a 1981. The square ugly rear drive cars with small OHC 6cyl and 4spd auto. I think they ran from 1980 to about 1984

The metalworking side of it will be Ok. The conversion should be a massive improvement on the ram steer.

I spotted an early 80's Crown today. It's almost identical apart from a speed sensitive valve on top for variable PS that picks up its signal from a hall effects sensor. I ran out of time and didnt see how the sensor is mounted yet but it could be just run off the tailshaft.
