Hi all,
i've got an 3 speed crash box (Sep bell housing) behind a Grey Motor which has been lagging in showing accurate speed. ie; when accelerating from say 40mph to 50mph it sits still, until you back off the throttle then it suddenly picks up.
I've checked the plastic gear at end of speedo cable (no burring/broken teeth) and replaced the cable with a new one.
Any suggestions on where to check next as i'd thought the new speedo cable should've fixed it.

Maybe replace the speedo head to try & isolate the problem.

You might find that the seal that stops the oil from the gear box entering the speedo via the cable is dodgy. If that is the case oil works its way up the cable and into th speedo head. You need to replace the seal and if you are lucky, cleaning the speedo head will rectify the problem.

Thanks Guys, gives me an angle to start from. I've just replaced the speedo cable, but might have a look at the speedo itself.
Appreciate it.
