Hi there.

Can anyone give me some info on fitting a Borg Warner 5 speed from a VB-VC-VH-VK commodore to my HR.

I've heard from someone that

1. They bolt straight on to the red motors.
2 Use the same hydrolic clutch setup from the aussie 4 speed.
3. Need some mods made to the gearbox cross member.
4. Move the shifter hole back a bit.
5. Use a different clutch plate.
6. A standard LH-UC Torana tailshaft (1225mm) fits straight in & suits the banjo.
7. And their ratios are better suited to the red motor/banjo 3.36 diff combo than a Celica 5 speed.

Has anyone heard of this been done. Or are there other things that I will need to do?

Thanks. Anthony

1) yes they do
2) no they don't, the box is cable, however you can modify the throwout arm to use the hydraulic slave cylinder by cutting off the hook and welding on a piece of angle with a hole in it.
3) I dont think you do...I think it bolts traight on.
4)mine fitted...but my hole wasn't factory (EH)
5)Can't remember but I think you are right.
6)what ever shaft you use...it will be 2 inches shorter than your stock one.
7) it was awesome with the 3.36 diff.

Not the toughest box in the world...but will be fine if you look after it.
