G'day Gents,

I always had this problem that the gas cap of my HQ 1 Tonner leaks when driving around a corner or stopping. The seal on the gas cap was porous so I decided to get a new one. I thought that solved the problem but no, it's still leaking every time I stop or do a left turn.

Are these leaking through the key hole? What is wrong here, I can't imagine that this is 'normal' operation. Anyone every had similar issues?

I tried to get to work only doing right turns which sort of works since there are roundabouts all the way but would prefer to fix this.

When I first read this post, I'm thinking 'if he has a gas leak, he should see a gas guy', but on re-reading it, I don't think he's talking LPG, he actually has a petrol cap leak.

It's probably leaking thru the key lock mechanism, this is common with aftermarket caps.

Hi Holden 1 Tonner

i would suggest you get in contact with CPC auto parts at http://cpcauto.com.au/ or http://cpcauto.com.au/contact.aspx

im guessing it is a CPC cap atleast, if you speak with them they may be able to sort out any issues

are you also certain its the correct cap? i think the listings get pretty complicated around hq and have seen countless times the wrong cap sold

just a thought

Thanks guys, yes it's the correct cap from CPC, but it took us a while to figure out which one is the correct one.

So I have to disassemble the thing and seal it with epoxy somehow.
