Hi Guys
Any one know how to tell the difference between the 7029283 rochester carbie for the Series 2 HK 327's & HT & HG 350 manual monaros?

What happenned to the answer?

I have 2nd series HK327 and would appreciate the info.
I have a 7029283 carb and would like to know if it is correct.

Do you also have a series 2?

Wasn't early HK 7027213 and late 7028213. (The 1 = GM) 7029283 was HT/G. (The 8 = GMH) But I might be wrong.

The photos of the different carby numbers were posted and removed but as I understand;
Series 1 HK327 identification 7027213 DZ
Series 2 HK327 identification 7029283 (So your carbie is correct)
HT/G 350 4 speed dropped the 702 and identification was 9283 DZ but not sure about the letters.
I don�t have a series 2, I was asking the question for my HG.

Carbie info
Series 1 HK327 identification 7027213 DZ
Series 2 HK327 and Super Early HT 350 Manual = "7029283" (No PB Code)
HT/G 350 4 speed dropped the "70" for Part of 1969 and identification was "29283 ZC"
Even Late HG 350 with the Late Type Engine still used a 1969 Dated/Spec Carby even though the Intake Manifold Number Changed .

7029283 and 29283 is Basically the Same Carby Spec wise .

Hope that clears everything up .

It will be "DY" not "KY" , that is Jelly !

Not its not a "Monaro Issue" Carby , even though its the same spec and will work fine .

7028213 = 68 Camaro and 68 Impala 327 Manual only .

7028213 Was never used on HK Monaros, even though technically it would have been the next number in line number wise if Holden would have not have used the "8" designated "Monaro Only " Issue Quadrajet Carbies on the Type 2 Cars . I have seen a few early Type 2 Cars with the 7027213 DZ Carby also .
7028213 is the same spec carbie and next best option really to a real one . Be careful also many of the 7028213 carbies are "later issued" and "Carter made" Quadrajets with 1970s dates and different bodies . Will work fine but are much less desirable value wise.


7027213 DZ can be gotten in the US but it has the aluminium Date tag and uses the 1967 body , and are actually not that great of a carby for multiple reasons (1968 were better) .
The US spec Carby is not the same as the "Monaro only " Issue 7027213 which is a 1967 Dated Carby with an Early 1968 Body , as we must have ordered the 1967 Spec Carby late in the piece and they used the current issue 1968 Body at Rochester.

You cannot see the stamped numbers in any photos so no way to know if it is right or not but at face value looks real. The numbers given probably don't suit a 1969 HT's engine, but certainly 1970-71. The auto HT-HG 350 cars are just so rare that it is hard to find enough original cars to get real numbers off. I've only ever seen two real carbs in the flesh, yet actually own two manual carbs. Shows you how rare the auto ones are!

Would anyone know why they only used 2 attaching screws under the throttle body to attach it to the main body of the Rochester 4 barrell

after 1970?

I have issues with the later carby body leaking as body is warped.

Early one with 3 screws is fine.

Give Stan at Rock fuel solutions a call on 0411 792 407 if you want your Rochester fixed. He has equipment to dewarp the Quaddy bodies.
